How the Site Works

This page describes how the content of this PG Poutama STEPPS site is organised.

How are the PG Poutama STEPPS Resources organised?

Everything starts from the 16 questions in the Reflective Questionnaire.

These questions come from the Guiding Framework areas that staff, students and alumni have said are the important first steps in being prepared for postgraduate study and in developing as an effective learner.

You will find that on each Preparation Tool page the content is organised under three headings: "essential", "optional" and "extra".  Here you will find information, small tasks, preparation work and key people to contact.  Your Reflective Questionnaire Results Summary will help you to decide where to begin.  Start with areas where you answered you feel less prepared.

The Question Resource Links pages are grouped under three main sections in the navigation menu

Section 1. SELF - These are questions and resources about yourself as a learner, a whānau member and a professional (Self as a Learner Questions 1 - 5).

Section 2. ENVIRONMENT - These are questions and resources about how you organise for your learning (Environment for Learning Questions 6 - 10).

Section 3. CAPABILITIES - These are questions and resources about the academic skills you bring (Academic Capabilities Questions 11 - 16).

If you have completed the Reflective Questionnaire, or you want to browse the content in this site, you can go to the
Preparation Tool pages
